Dawning Pollen Shorty, one of our favorite local artists and a longtime supporter of the Millicent Rogers Museum, will be hosting an artist talk and pottery demonstration this Saturday at 1 p.m.  Dawning had a beautiful piece in our 14th Annual Miniature Show and Sale that was featured in the Taos News and she was also one of the artists selected for the Taos Pueblo Artists Winter Showcase.  You can read about her work in this year's issue of Taos Woman.

She loaned one of her micaceous clay storyteller figurines for our Storytellers: Teaching Heritage through Song and Story exhibit.  It provides a great example of the
diverse range of styles found in storyteller figurines across the Southwest.

As part of our ongoing events schedule for our Storytellers exhibit, Dawning will be talking about her work, technique, and process.  Come to the museum this Saturday to hear more about this fascinating artist and learn how to make your own storyteller!
